Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa offers 33 oceanfront guest rooms and 18 oceanfront cottages, each with views of Haystack Rock and the Pacific Ocean. Rooms feature private balconies or patios, gas fireplaces, and cast-iron soaking tubs. Cottages include gourmet kitchens, jetted soaking tubs, and gas grills. All accommodations come with Malo’o backpack coolers, Nocs binoculars, and custom racks for surfboards and bikes.
Northwest Coastal Cuisine
Meridian Restaurant & Bar serves dishes inspired by local seafood and Northwest farms, with views of Haystack Rock. The menu includes baked French toast, Meridian clam chowder, and a selection of Oregon wines. In-room dining is available from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, featuring crab eggs Benedict and NW cured meat plates.
Adventure & Wellness
Guests can hike Cape Kiwanda’s Great Dune, kayak on the Nestucca River, or join a clamming expedition. The fitness center has Peloton bikes and Precor equipment, while Tidepools Spa offers massages and facials. Outdoor activities include beach bonfires, fat-tire biking, and guided hikes through old-growth forests.

The lodge is steps from Cape Kiwanda State Natural Area and a 2-hour drive from Portland International Airport. Nearby attractions include Bob Straub State Park, Netarts Bay for clamming, and the Nestucca River for fishing. The area is known for its coastal wildlife, including seals and bald eagles.

Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa is an incredible location on the Oregon coast with stunning ocean views and easy beach access. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable, providing a great retreat. However, while the dining options at the hotel are decent, they could use a bit more variety for a better experience. The service can be hit or miss, as we encountered some rudeness at check-in. Overall, it's a lovely stay with some minor setbacks.
Headlands Resort offers a stunning stay on the Oregon coast with beautiful beach views and a relaxing atmosphere. The rooms are modern and comfortable, making it a perfect getaway. However, it could be a bit challenging if you're expecting quick responses from the staff for certain requests. The on-site dining options are excellent, but some might find the experience slightly pricey compared to local norms.
We had a wonderful stay at Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa, where the beautiful ocean views stole the show. The cleanliness and the comfortable room furnishings made our time incredibly enjoyable. However, we encountered some mediocre dining experiences during our visit, and the service at the front desk could have been warmer. Overall, this is still a fantastic spot for a getaway with an ideal coastal setting and engaging hotel features.
Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa is an excellent getaway location with stunning views and comfortable rooms. The pantry stocked with snacks was a fantastic touch. However, we encountered a few service hiccups and some aspects of the dining experience didn't meet our expectations. Overall, it's a cozy retreat worth revisiting for those seeking relaxation and beautiful scenery.
My stay at Headlands Coastal Lodge & Spa was delightful overall. The cozy elegance of the rooms really enhanced my experience. The warm atmosphere and exquisite dining options made for a truly special getaway, but I did find the on-site light food selection a bit limited. While there were some hiccups with service responsiveness, the beach access and spa facilities were definitely highlights of my stay, providing great relaxation and a beautiful coastal experience.
